Use Tabs in Windows Explorer like in mozilla Firefox.

Tabs have made the way of surfing the Internet a lot easier. Using tabs in the browsers have eased up the trouble faced when switching between all the windows opened. Tabs are really the need of today that prevents from cluttering the desktop with lots of windows.

Using Tabs in the internet browsers like Firefox, Opera, IE7 and Chrome etc have made me feel the need of tabs in the Windows Explorer as well and I think there are many others like me who can’t live without tabbed browsing in the explorer.

Here is a way with which we can add tabs to the Windows Explorer, for example we can create one tab that contains all Windows Explorer folders, one for Internet and one for some other application.

Method 1:
QT TabBar

QTTabBar is an Add-In that gives Tab Browsing Feature to your Explorer. Just download and run this tool, and after that the computer needs to be restarted and you need to activate the toolbar in the View -> Toolbars menu.
Now every time you click on a new folder, it will be opened in a new tab. isn’t it cool?

Method 2:
Window Tabifier

This program allows us to host several open Windows in one parent window so that you can easily access and navigate between them, as well as clean up space in the taskbar. This will allow us to group similar Windows together, easily navigate between them and clean up space in the taskbar.

How to extract or get email id from orkut

This is a very simple trick to extract email ID of any orkut user. This Works even if the target is not your friend. Below are the steps to do this:

Navigate to the profile page of the member you wish to know the email address.
Add that person as a friend.
Now navigate to your friends page.
On the right hand side, you will find a option to export contacts.
Choose Export Contacts Option.

Fill in the Word Verification on the Next Page.
You will be prompted to download the contacts.csv file.
Once you have downloaded the file, open it in Microsoft Excel or any other compatible software.
You will see all the email addresses including those which have not yet accepted your friend requests but have recieved your friend request.

How to extract images from Orkut

This trick may be useful to most of the Orkut users. The right click option is blocked in Orkut. Hence, many of us use the print screen method to extract the picture from it. But this reduces the image quality. Alternatively we can use a simple method to do this.

Just drag and drop your image on your desktop. A copy of the image is now yours.
The extracted photo is in xyz.j format. Simply double-clicking will not open it.
You have to Right-click and open with any program of your choice.

This is an alternative method other than as i explained in my previous posts to unblock any website. This trick uses a software Jonodo. Click to download. Note - You will need JAVA Runtime to run JAP. Click to download.
JAP or Jondo is software application that allows you to surf the web without being observed. JAP has to be installed on the user’s computer to allow him to surf the web anonymously and without being observed

Now that you have downloaded the software, install the program on the computer from where you want to surf the blocked websites.
Now open the program and choose Assistant.
Opening assistant will give you instructions to set up the application for your desired browser.
Note -Firefox users should set up a new profile because for the profile with which you will set up this application, would only work when this application works. Making a new profile would allow you to surf with other profile normally when this application is not in use.
Once you have configured your browser choose in services dropdown, Free Services option on the next window.
Once you choose your desired service, wait till it connects.
Once you see the signal, start browsing on the browser you configured with Jondo.
Done!

Taskbar Thumbnail Preview mechanism for Windows XP

Windows 7 has thumbnail preview feature. Taskbar Thumbnail Preview displays small thumbnail preview of opened window on your taskbar when you hover your mouse on taskbar icons. Many users have started loving taskbar thumbnail preview of windows 7.

We can access this feature in Windows XP but with the Alt+Tab combination. There is a small application available from Microsoft for this. This PowerToy enhances the existing Alt + Tab application switching mechanism of Windows XP. It provides a thumbnail preview of windows in the task list and is compliant with the new Windows XP visual style. You use this just as you do the existing Alt + Tab mechanism. Press and hold the Alt key and then press the Tab key to cycle through the running applications. When the desired application is highlighted release the Alt key. You can move backwards through the task list by pressing and holding the Shift and Alt key and then pressing the Tab key.

How to Boot ISO Image without Burning to CD

There are times when we want to burn the ISO image to a CD/DVD drive to know what the image does and what it contains. But burning the image to a disk needs time and also the big disadvantage of it is that if the image is burned to the disk, the CD-R can not be used again.

If you want to check an ISO file here is how you can do that without burning it to a CD-Rom and needless to mention, the image runs as perfect as is from CD. With this tool you can also take the screenshots, which you can’t if you were actually booting from the CD.

Copy Files with Pause and Resume Feature in Windows

You can copy files from one location to another with Pause feature that is now you can pause your copy paste and resume at your will. What’s more is that you can also increase the speed of the copy paste. Isn’t it cool?

Steps to IncreaseNetwork Browsing Speed

If you’ve ever browsed folders on a network, you’ll know how slow it can be. With a simple registry hack, you can increase your network browsing speed. Here’s how to do it:

Click Start>Run and enter ‘regedit’.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace
Locate the key named {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}. This key tells Windows to search for scheduled tasks, of which there are none. Right click on it and delete it.
If you have no use for viewing remote shared printers and is only interested in shared files, consider deleting the printers key as follows: {2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D}. This will further improve network browsing speed.

Your networking browsing speed should be now considerably faster, as it will have no delay.

How to Remove Notaped.exe Virus -Fix

Notaped.exe is a filname that is found to be added by several malicious viruses/trojans/worms on an infected computer. It is reported to be a malicious trojan horse . It is trying to confuse users into thinking/ or mistaking it to be the process of Notepad, notepad.exe. Notepad.exe is legitimate windows process, whereas notaped.exe is a virus. This file could be found in different locations. You can delete this file no matter where is it located. It is found to be protected with Themida in order to prevent the sample from being reverse-engineered.

1. Trying system restore:If you know the duration since your computer is infected, you can try to restore your computer at a prior date, that will work like a miracle in removing the infection

Step1. View Hidden Files

Before you could delete notaped.exe and its associated files you need to search for them, and before doing that you need to enable to view hidden files and folders

step2.Boot in safe mode

If you are not able to delete system32.exe, you should try it after booting in safe mode.

Step3. Removing process from Task Manager

Press Ctrl Shift Esc to open Task Manager. See in the list of the processes for a processe/s named notaped.exe , also look for any similar suspicious names, select if found and press the End Process button. It will prompt you , say yes, and then close the Task Manager.

Optionally you can use Windows Defender to see the path of a currently running program/ process and its publisher, so as to differentiate malware processes from windows genuine processes.

Step4.Removing entry from windows startup

The system configuration can be started in xp and in vista by typing msconfig in the run box/ start menu search box. In xp by clicking on Start > run . The windows startup is reversible, therefore you can check / uncheck any entry from windows startup any number of times.

Step5.Disable windows services

This virus creates a different windows service in each of its variaions , you can disable it by clicking on the services tab, and look for a service mentioned below, ucheck the box in front of its name, press Apply, press Ok. Restart the computer.

Step6.Delete Files
This virus creates the following files on an infected computer
C:\windows\system32\0.txt
C:\windows\system32\notaped.exe
delete them if found

Step7.Run CCleaner

Even if you manage to find and delete notaped.exe and its associated files , there will be leftover entries in the windows regitry. If you run a free temp files/registry cleaner called CCleaner, that will help you to automatically clean the registry as well as the temp folder .

Steps to remove Very Dangerous _ex-08.exe Virus

I have no idea if there are any legitimate applications using these file named _ex-08.exe, however it is always possible that some legitimate application may have/ or may incorporate such names in their software, hence take precaution before deleting it.

How to Remove _ex-08.exe Virus

1.The processes _ex-08.exe, 78641329.exe could be seen in the Task Manager which you can End from there.

2.These are the files that it creates on the infected computer. Delete them.

C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Desktop\Security Tool.lnk

3.If these files are not in the said location, you can nevertheless delete them, wherever they are found. You can use windows search utility to search for the files listed above and delete them.

4.For additional cleaning, you can easily get rid of temp files and obsolete registry entries simply by running a freeware like the CCleaner
